In the last year or two we keep receiving inquiries about CBD oil, Hemp oil, Cannabis oil. Here at Hemp Seed Oil Europe, we are not able to supply these products, but we will try to explain the difference.
There is and will ever be only one oil related to hemp. The hemp seed oil. Since 2010, Hemp Seed Oil Europe has been supplying premium Canadian hemp seed oil made by cold pressing of hemp seeds. Hemp seed oil is loved by many for its nutty taste, light green color and content of Vitamin E and Omega 3, 6 and 9. We offer this article as a food and cosmetics ingredient according to the European safety standards and regulations.
All the other „oils“ (Hemp oil, CBD oil, Cannabis Oil) are technically extracts of green parts (leaves and flowers) of Cannabis plant. Under UNO Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs (1961), extracts of cannabis are a „Schedule I substance“ and for cannabis extraction a government license is required.
The other „oils“ (Hemp oil, CBD oil, Cannabis Oil) are spawned into the market from questionable sources in syringes or bottles with droppers. The other „oils“ come with miraculous health claims, claiming a food supplement status with content of CBD between 5-20% and content of psychoactive THC from less then 0,2% up to 20% depending on the level of dilution of the crude cannabis extract.
Under EU regulations, food supplements are concentrated sources of nutrients (vitamins or minerals). No psychoactive substances are allowed to be part of foods or food supplements in the EU.
